There can be no doubt that every empire in history as far as we know of them and can define them, was brutal, savage and we can enjoy a good riddance to them all. We can also mark how the modern world is defined by what has gone before but the fact that the western world managed to be the strongest empires in the past two thousand years should not blind us to the fact that every empire has been a completely human construct and has the east been ahead of the game, as the Mongols and Arabs have shown, they would have acted in exactly the same way.
I can’t stand this ‘I am so oppressed’ holier than thou attitude prevalent in the discourse today.
