The League of Nations, the United Nations, NATO all were created to stand against tyranny and yet in their own stead for some they became the tyrants – deciding who should be sacrificed for the greater good of other nations. With the very best of intentions we sometimes drag ourselves from one war into another because we never accept that all wars lead to the others, that all wars have been one and have little to do with rationality and everything to do with tribalism.
They say the mob has its own way of thinking and it overtakes the individual. War is the perfect expression of this idea. Right now due to Trump we are going into the biggest conflagration of the 21st century fuelled by the cold war, fuelled by NATO and the old Warsaw Pact which was fuelled by World War Two and so on … Peace it not the treaty at the end of a war but the end of tribalism and we have never achieved it.
