D-Day

Posted on 06/06/2024 by Daniel

Today we celebrate a particular battle, like so many we celebrate, that has ensured the path of history in which we all live. We can talk to the human stupidity of following the dictates of one man and of the sacrifices demanded to stop him and them, but what we should remember is the awful humanness of it all.

It was a war in a very long succession of wars in Europe mirrored by wars all over the world. The insane dedication to massacre and power-paly that we still live today. The willingness to give oneself the arguments that allow one to kill. The utter horror of mass slaughter and the sickly rational mind trying to codify different kind of murder.

We can never defeat our nature.
