My Country is Broken

Posted on 05/10/2022 by admin

Most are but in 2016 every racist in the UK voted to leave the European Union. Enough people joined with them to give them a slim majority of those who voted. They assisted in the country doing what every racist in its borders wanted it to do.

In the lead up to this hideous fact 400 Syrian children, running from a war zone and traumatised in much the same way children of the Blitz were damaged; were refused immediate entry to the UK. At the same time Germany was taking in tens of thousands of refugees and dealing with the racist backlash that is the common response of disparate sectors of society. In seventy years Germany, which gave us the architype  of racist regimes, has become more humanitarian than the country that for two years stood against it with supplies from the USA and a few immensely brave citizens in mainland Europe.

That’s the fact that should sicken us all.
