I walked up to the old container next to the shed in the field and found one of the stop-end plastic valves had come away in the cold and water was gushing out. As this is our spring water I went to my neighbour and within fifteen minutes we had a new valve in place. One of the most important things when you live substantially off-grid is to have people around you in a network.
But that is true of investment bankers and royalty. Those around us make our lives possible. And in the wider and more important sense, the health of the planet make sit all possible.
