They don&#8217;t do much more research on those writing or talking than reading the cv on the site. They don&#8217;t then write to a leading academic in the field to put forward their conclusions and ask them to comment (which will always elicit a reading list sent by the secretary to the faculty) and they don&#8217;t take notes on the main points put forward in their reading.<\/p>\n<p>In other words it isn&#8217;t a learning exercise but a discovery of what it is one should learn before commenting.
