I made the train journey to London over night the past two days with one change of a shirt for a meeting. The train up, contrary to many things I have been told, was straightforward and easy even to the underground in London. The journey back was a touch more complicated as I had to change.<\/p>\n
The big surprise was the cost. \u00a3185 for an adult off-peak ticket. That is \u00a3100 more than going by car and exorbitant.\u00a0 The cost of a meal for two was \u00a330 and since I eat at home for less that \u00a35 a day – maybe\u00a0 a touch more for the organic smoothies I make for myself – that makes London way too expensive for my meagre income. The trains were very noisy as well. When I go back in a couple of weeks I will drive. It is worth it when staying a couple of days.<\/p>\n
