I went to a garden party in a local Cornish village and sold cards and and a few art books to raise funds for the church. I laughed with the vicar and made new friends and raced a snail and in the late afternoon after the music had died down and the people were mostly gone from the garden I sat with five other people in the front room of a lovely house drinking water with a cheese sandwich and we talked about artists, about relationships, about bringing up children and the education system mentioning the UK elections and the state of the US as we passed.<\/p>\n
I miss those long conversations when people who have lived a life bring their experience and wisdom to the discussion.<\/p>\n
