Fame, wisdom, love, and power were mine,
\nAnd health and youth possess\u2019d me;
\nMy goblets blush\u2019d from every vine,
\nAnd lovely forms caress\u2019d me;
\nI sunn\u2019d my heart in beauty\u2019s eyes,
\nAnd felt my soul grow tender;
\nAll earth can give, or mortal prize,
\nWas mine of regal splendour.<\/p>\n
I strive to number o\u2019er what days
\nRemembrance can discover,
\nWhich all that life or earth displays
\nWould lure me to live over.
\nThere rose no day, there roll\u2019d no hour
\nOf pleasure unembitter\u2019d:
\nAnd not a trapping deck\u2019d my power
\nThat gall\u2019d not while it glitter\u2019d.<\/p>\n
