I recall when my pc first crashed on me and the hardware had broken I spent a week without the Internet after being on it for almost two years. I had withdrawal symptoms. Yet strangely enough when it happened again after four years or so I spent the week doing other things quite happy to be away from the screen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It seems that with all addictions light or deep, there is a cut off period when the mind clears and sees the thing for what it is. However the Internet came to me when I was forty and a lot of my character and all of my loves were already cemented into my brain. It is a little like the difference between gaining fame when one is a teenager and gaining fame when one is an old age pensioner &#8211; the fame is the same but the person is completely different. For the teenager fame becomes the life and the hollowness of the life is difficult to maintian.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I now use the computer purely for work and making sure I am up to date with all the new developments in the pc field as I do not want to fall behind some teenager&#8217;s understanding of how things work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That really would be something to fret over.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whenever my computer goes wrong I always seem to go into overdrive and worry.
