On the one hand working with lawyers on any issue is an education in written codes which shows some of the mechanics of society. However the broadly American dictum that a lawyers is there to ‘win’ for you is not a methodology given to justice first. It would be better in cases if the opposing lawyers got together, argued the facts, recorded the conversations, came to a fair assessment (which would be they win / they lose) and put the conclusion before the warring parties. Less court time and with a legal profession given to justice first, as long as you had a corps of ethical lawyers, it would do quite well.
