Movie making is fun and has a rich history despite its youth but it is prone to celebrate personality rather than talent. I am not going to single out any particular film actor but we all know those whose voices never change, who hit a part that fits their own body form an delivery and natural rhythms of talking so well they become associated with the part. Presence on screen can make a star. but to convince people you are who you say you are, to change your way of being so completely that you are never the same in any two roles … that is acting as art and you find that almost exclusively on the stage.
