All is Human

Posted on 21/09/2025 by Daniel

I don’t know about the academics of the world and the brilliant commentators on every aspect of human behaviour – but I do know about populations and there is not just a tendency but as acceptance to judge other countries, other ‘tribes’ other ‘peoples’ as distinct. They are not. We are all human beings and everything ever done by any group in history anywhere on the planet is a part of my human history. You cannot cut me off from slavers or slaves, from Romans or Greeks, Mongols or other empire builders. I have been a part of the writing of laws and the fighting of wars. I have died a million times and given birth a million more. I am stupid and wise, victor and vanquished, enlightened and utterly foolish.

When we point with fingers we are using the fingers of those we are pointing at.

Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto (I am a human being, I think nothing human is foreign to me)

Terence (attrib)
