So I went with my photographer friend who had been given the commission to photograph an ancient bridge in a local town. We got there about half an hour after sunrise and waited for the river to reach high tide and the sun to break out of the clouds so she could get the bridge with its arched and granite stonework to a lighter contrast whole getting the reflections in a glimmering river. Me, I take a picture and move on. we were there for two hours. Listening to her talk about the contrast variations, the framing, the angles and the softening of the light through ribbons of clouds as opposed to a blue sky, were all fascinating.
All art takes time and thought.
