I was just at the 80th birthday party of an artist friend and colleague with whom I have helped publish three art books to date. It was a gathering of over twenty people I have known for about twenty-five to thirty years, a few I have seen grow from babies, a few I seen age, a few I have laughed with and partied with and shared many thoughts with and they watched me look after my dying mother and helped me in ways that at times made my life possible. I used to dislike parties because they were all abut the drink, networking, getting to know people but not these kind if parties. This was a celebration of shared lives.
