Modern medicine

Posted on 26/04/2025 by Daniel

There are many marvels of modern medicine but there are also huge gaps. When my mother’s salt levels crashed I was introduced to the Endocrine system which, it turned out, are a series of organs in the body that are lumped together because they don’t fit in with the other systems – heart, lung, nerves etc. My own blood pressure I was asked about my eating, exercise and drinking habits and having found they could not be the cause I was told ‘it’s genetic’.

These catch-alls are actually unhelpful. And if there are answers beyond them the tests needed to find out are so expensive they are not offered to the general public.
