Vanity

Posted on 03/02/2025 by Daniel

I was placed in the middle of two angry and arguing colleagues this weekend and one demanded I remove the other from the team. I asked them both for the history of their emails. Bot baulked at the prospect and neither sent them to me. One has now suggested she terminates her work with us, an act of utter folly but born from the vanity that she is not being listened to. The other tells me the worst things were said to him on the phone for which there is no record.

When people focus on each other and not the aims of the project these things will always happen. It seems to me both of these people are playing like children., adults concentrate on making the project a success despite all hurdles. I will admit it helps if the team get along and trust each other and I told one of them to only deal with me weeks ago but he doesn’t. I think they enjoy antagonism.
