Sadness

Posted on 29/09/2024 by Daniel

I have been thinking these past few minutes about the deaths of the beings I loved. It began with the pain my last dog was in when she died but then I thought of how lonely one of my dogs must have been who died in a cage in the vet waiting to be seen by a heart specialist, or the terrier who died in my arms after a night of blood tests and pain with liver cancer. Then of course, my good friend from college who died or post-operative cardiac arrest at the age of 44 and my mother who spent years in fear in a bed she could not get up from before she had a cardiac arrest.

And the unfairness of pain before death overwhelmed me and i had to write about it.
