People Ask Me …

Posted on 03/06/202403/06/2024 by Daniel

all the time what I think of the situation in Gaza.

War is vile and urban war is horrific. Soldiers will tell you it is the bitterest kind of warfare. There is no doubt that Hamas are hiding behind civilians as insurgents and guerillas do when fighting a superior enemy. That they are hiding behind people they have sworn to protect is a matter of their ethics’, I condemn them. I certainly condemn the clerics in Iran whose religious beliefs will never allow that the Jews are back not only in part of their historic lands but in Jerusalem with the Temple Mount. A huge part of Mohammed’s  arguments for Islam was that Judaism was broken and god’s promise belonged to the Muslims. They can never allow the Jewish People to rebuild their temple or to have power in the land. It drives an arrow through the heart of Islam.

I doubt there is ever a just war but there is a necessity to fight in your defence and that is what Israel has always done when offering peace and receiving in return death. While Iranian clerics and other devout Muslims continue to think war is a legitimate political necessity, then I am very much on Israel’s side.
