Millions are starving and the situation is gearing up to be the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today. Access to get aid into the war torn regions is impossible at times and there is no end to the warring between the parties. Hundreds are displaced (5.8 million so far) and hundreds of villages have been destroyed.
This used to be what Europe looked like. It is what America looked like. We don’t like to think about it because we have left that history behind but we haven’t. Everything that people do around the world is our shared human history. As Sudan falls and we prepare for elections, these are the same people, at the same time. That is what is never taught and because it isn’t, there will be no end to the warring, the violence and the hatreds.
