in the UK they have just woken up to the fact that paedophiles abuse their own children.
They are changing the law so that convicted paedophiles do not have access to their own children. Up to now the rights of a father have overridden the conviction, so in effect the law has not protected the children of a known sex offender.
Forgive me, I am not a professional in this regard but even I know the children at most danger are the paedophiles own because paedophiles share the children. To have missed this fact for years proves to me that law makers are often so disaffected from the general population that they do not know the simplest truths.
