Tea

Posted on 06/04/2024 by Daniel

My tradition is to have a weak cup of tea in the morning. When I was sent away to boarding school for eighteen months when I was 9 I stopped taking sugar in my tea – I have no memory why. When I had high blood pressure after the age of fifty I stopped taking milk and when i went to add it again they adulterate it with so much it tasted  bitter and now I just have a weak brew of green tea or Darjeeling with no milk. My uncle would have added a slice of lemon in the east European manner but I don’t.

I have a cup of coffee about once a year because though the smell of the roasting beans is intoxicating it really is just a drug.
