Someone asked me why rich people go into politics. My answer, that power makes one even more wealthy and is an aphrodisiac for vanity, doesn’t seem quite enough.
The financial system we have devised over millenniums does not limit wealth but it punishes penury. This is obviously unfair in the extreme. It seems to me that vast riches should no longer be allowed and no one person should ever have control of a business as the business is successful because of every effort by everyone.
I am told that i you take these away you take away incentives.
If the only incentive people recognise is greed and vanity of ownership, then the human race is finished. Incentives such as the love of community and nature are far more important values across the board.
