The UK, entering what may be a decade of economic hardship, is facing a winter of strikes. Some quite unexpected. Nurses, coffin makers and ambulance staff are among the groups with train workers finding that government doesn’t care about them.
If you have a group of workers whom you consider so vital they should not strike you have an added burden of care to make sure you treat them fairly and pay them fairly. These people, like nurses, striking is completely the fault of government and their management of the NHS. Because nurses do not want to strike.
And given the money given to friends of ministers during Covid and the billions wasted, the attempted manipulation of the narrative as to why they are all striking is hypocrisy in motion. Society cannot thrive if money is your primary value system.
