A Tall Man Like A Tree

Posted on 05/11/2022 by admin

A Tall Man Like A Tree

Long ago I loved a man
Tall like a tree –

With a wave
Or two
In his hair –

Eyes blue
As heaven –
Skin fair –

Long-fingered hands
Rather funny ears
Legs of a stallion
Kiss of a rogue

Time wears
Lovers out
Little by little

Only voices
Ring a familiar
Chime –

Now I love
A tall man

With hair
Grey here
And there –

Eyes tired
Hands slightly
Worn –

Still rather
Funny ears
Still legs
Of a stallion
Kiss of a rogue –

Age is in
The eyes
Of the beholder
And I can only see

A man tall
Like a tree
With a wave
Or two in his hair –

Eyes blue
As heaven
Skin fair –
With rather
Funny ears –

An evergreen-man like a tree
