It Never Ends

Posted on 10/01/2012 by admin

Every time I open up my computer to work on a book, block or cover, I find there is something else I have to learn before I can accomplish what I want to achieve. To day the cover art has been altered for a book of fairy tales so I need to manipulate the back cover text to go around the head of a child, and someone locked the text as a layer so even unlocking it doesn’t allow me to just edit it.

No I have to learn more about locked styles, layers  and even then, who knows how good the result will look.

Every time I read something about computers the goal posts have changed. Soon we will need a computer that talks to us just to tell us what it’s been up to in the last week because we won’t have a clue. And the more these bits of software can do, the larger they become, the more memory they need to sue and so the more powerful you need your computer to be. I cannot imagine how much electricity this is all consuming but I can see it consumes years of time.

I only trust that the results will be enjoyed by readers and keep a little quiet about the heartache of publishing!
