In Tudor England there are many recorded of children as young as 10 being hanged for stealing food. There is one account of a child calling for his mother as he was hanged. There were at the time, for those who had clothes, no difference in fashion for children for childhood as we know it was not yet part of the culture. We have changed. I think of this when I think about what we class as murder. It cannot be right that only human beings can be murdered, Our treatment and mass slaughter of animals is murder. it is the taking of life. It is interfering with the process of evolution, it is hurting sentient feeling beings.
It is horrendous.
