Walking the beach at dawn this morning with my friend and the dog I am looking after until Tuesday. It was fresh and obviously the beginning of autumn but at that time in the morning and this later holiday time, the beach had a very few people on it. two ladies went shimming and I have to admit, I have never been into wild swimming. In fact I have rarely been into anything cold though that never stopped me dressing up in mid-winter and striding out with the dogs. Seeing the small boats at their moorings and the occasional seagull bobbing in the sea as it receded made us all feel fortunate.
