Political wings

Posted on 19/12/2024 by Daniel

The entire framing of left and right wing, which derives from the French Revolution with the royalist leaning delegates sitting on the right and the anti-royalists sitting on the left. But the idea of population control, of laws drafted to suit one’s own constituency, or media control cross over. The right allows more freedoms today for the population than ever before in order to maintain its control, and the left cuts through democratic privileges in order to attain its wider goals. We are in a place where the enclosures could be overseen by the left and minimum wages increased by the right. Not their usual home.

How one governs millions given the restrictions on nationhood and borders is a difficult problem and one that needs us to redraw the political spectrum, by firstly acknowledging that all parties are money-manager. Nothing else. That all parties’ manifestos are no more than cartoons on the larger drawing of national and international commerce. Even describing oneself as left or right wing is anachronistic.
