On A Walk with Rusty

Posted on 23/10/2024 by Daniel

I walked upon the beach at Daymer Bay

With Rusty by my side as dawn arose

And somewhere in that dawn, we touched a day

Where sea, and dog and man could still compose

A song that all of nature could complete;

Whose harmonies within the hollow shells

And Undulating dunes beside bare feet

Sang all the dreams a poet ever tells

Into a moment of rich solitude

Where wet paws and the drying sand enjoy

The soulful food of nature’s amplitude

Who makes a dog from pup, and man from boy.

And so we wander not so much awake

Inhaling time with every breath we take
