Cornwall council is trying to be green with its refuse collection. It has taken it from weekly to fortnightly and supplied a lockable black bin to everyone in the region – or is in the process of doing so.
This black bin with very clear lettering on the side is plastic. I already have a plastic bin. So mine is now obsolete. It is the same size. But they have not delivered me one of their special plastic bins. So when I left a black bag outside today they didn’t take it because it was not inside their plastic bin. If it had been inside one of their special bins they would have taken it. And how does this all make sense?
It is supposed to be a cleaner type of bin and ensure that no one has more refuse than one bin full. In the meantime my refuse is not taken, my old bin has to be recycled though it is in perfect working order and they have spent millions on more plastic.
