Again. You would have thought that last Saturday with all the rain when I passed the reservoir here it would have been full but no … it was lower than i have ever seen it and I was told it was 15% full. Parts of it looked like marsh and nothing more. It now stands at 21%.
The locals are using bath water to flush their toilets. The problem is the visitors who holiday in the county – some 6 million a year – and the money they make for lettings, hotels and shops. None of those businesses give money back to the locals but the water company is refunding £30 to each household for inconvenience. Obviously not a true reflection of the fact you pay hundreds of pounds a year for water and you don’t get it because everyone is too busy making money out of other people.
Whatever we do, someone somewhere is paying a price for it and we don’t care.
