With my technique of throwing fat balls across the garden to be nearer the field I seem to have encouraged a male pheasant to visit everyday and a female to wander around. The seeds i put out entice magpies, black birds and ravens and the peanuts in their holders mean i have black headed tits, the occasional nuthatch, casual robin (who would just come to see if I was in not just for the food) a wren (which was a huge surprise) and a few other visitors that are rare to see.
Of course above them all is the hawk who goes for the frogs, and rabbits who are beginning to come back after a few years of very few. But then I guess there is a hawk circling above us all.
