Keeping Bees

Posted on 01/10/2022 by admin

I started to to try to keep some bees with a swarm of black Cornish bees given to me last March.

Being me I wanted to do things differently and am trying to work to have healthy bees more than honey, so I instinctively dislike the idea of feeding them sugar and stealing as much honey as I possibly can. Especially with winter on the way and a very wet autumn on the cards. But that doesn’t decrease the worry. It seems no matter what you do when you are called upon the look after a living being (or thousands of them), and even if you don’t have a full understanding of their live cycle and styles, you still fret over their welfare.

I think this is the more difficult aspect of keeping bees…
