The Storm of the Unknown

Posted on 05/01/2012 by admin

For the longest time people have wondered what it would be like if aliens from another planet visited the Earth. Some even think they have and writers have used their imaginations in many ways to describe the outcomes from past history.

Although we can never know, there is one thing of which we can be sure, their intentions will govern what we do. I often wonder how the UN would react in the event of a space ship just hovering somewhere a mile above the planet. The way in which our own political outlook will be demonstrated by the way the military is put on alert and the military is given the task of finding out what’s going on, and the odd idiot with a balloon who tries to take a look.

In fact the aliens need never leave their ship if they want to know all about us, they just have to watch; watch people gathering to display signals, watch people being arrested for getting to close to the exclusion zone, watch leaders gathering, talking, seeking to find out what’s going on, accusing others of dirty-tricks. And all of it will be because we are ruled by the fear of the unknown.

It is this fear that has made us what we are and we could never hide that even if we wanted to.
