Emotional Intelligence

Posted on 03/02/2011 by admin

Every mind is different, and whilst we are on the subject of mind we should all remember that every baby and child is a growing mind and however cute we think them everything we do and most of what we say, is being collated in there somewhere. This difference means that not every child is ready for the full answer when they ask a question but it is wise to give an answer that is on the way to the truth.

I say this because it is quite clear to me that a lot of my own ideas have been born directly out of my childhood. The peripatetic artist mother never having a settled home but always keeping everything clean and tidy and no  matter how long we stayed in an apartment we marched in with cleaning fluids and did the bathroom first. To music of course. We had no time for liars and no time for actually making money, though we recognized money was needed to buy food because we owned nothing. It is a strange twist of the system that inheritances means the rich actually need less money to be comfortable on a daily basis than poor people.

But more importantly I never recall asking my mother details about sex or about politics because when I asked a question however young, I always got an answer, I watched puppies being born and sat in on all adult talks. These things were imbibed because they are the every day leaving my mother free to answer only those questions in my growing mind that suggested problems.

Sex and politics are problems only for the adults, not the children.
